Halloween Party

Last Friday on October 27th, the English Club held a “Halloween Party”. We were so glad to see all the kids and parents enjoyed themselves while trying their best to solve the mini station games that we the ALTs have prepared in advance.
Their journey began with a “code breaker” word game which required some quick wit to figure out and spell a list of Halloween themed words. Upon solving each station game, the participants were given their next clue which led them to even greater challenges ahead. The games brought out the best in all of our participants as they went through a series of challenges that tested their wit, craft skills, investigative minds and even their physical abilities. The end was almost as amazing as the beginning of the event as a shy little 6th grader girl emerged from the crowds as the ultimate winner for being the first to clear all the challenges. Well done! Our very own “Master detective, Halloween edition”.
However, the story did not end there. The evening continued on with an impromptu “Halloween Cosplay” catwalk. The kids were given some time to come up with some DIY costumes after diving through the club’s little chest of props and accessories. It was a test on their creativity and some definitely passed with flying colors. The kids nearly turned the classroom upside-down whilst looking for their next piece of prop and even the brooms from the cleaning cabinet was not spared.
After about an hour of fun and games, the party finally came to an end and what better way to do it than to wrap it up with a classic Halloween tradition of “Trick-or-Treat”. Kids and adults alike made a bee line straight to this mountain of candies and chocolates at the front of the classroom. It was an absolute joy to see the bright smiles on everyone’s faces. Needless to say, I think everyone left feeling like a winner that day. Until the next spooky event, Happy Halloween everyone!
